Thursday Feb 18, 2021
The Hour of the Ages Approaches. “My time is at hand” (26:18) And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. The Crucifixion nears (26:2) Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified. Jesus Prepared the Disciples for the Coming of the Cross. They shared the last Passover. They shared the first Communion (the new covenant begins). We should note these lessons from Jesus for every Communion Service.
(1). Remember the Communion and Christ’s Body (v.26) “Take, eat; this is my body”
(2). Remember the Communion and Christ’s Blood (vv. 27-28).
And (3). Remember the Communion and Christ’s Coming Kingdom.

Follow Paul On His Journey to Rome. Paul was going to Rome as a prisoner. Many trials awaited him in Rome. Recall the Storm and the Shipwreck? Paul was comforted by an angel in the storm (Acts 27:22-25) And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. They were shipwrecked and stranded on an island, but all alive. They were met by kind natives, a warm fire, and trouble ahead. A Viper, Coming Out of the Fire, Attacks Paul. Vipers often appear out of the fires of life. Times of trouble make us vulnerable. God has a promise for the fiery times (Isa.43:2) When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Paul shook off the viper when attacked, and so should we!

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. God Calls People to Service (Rom.1:1) Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, Who Does Call?
